Paris has been enveloped in varying states of choking smog for five days. Drivers that defied the alternate day ban faced an on-the-spot twenty-two Euro fine, or a thirty-five Euro fine if paid within three days.

No word yet on when odd numbered license plates will be forced off the roads as well.
