I thought he had a tendency to basically want to argue over most everything and go round and round in circles, but I didn't really pay him much mind. If the abuse talk is true and if he was warned about misogyny and kept it all up, then I can understand a ban.

I didn't see his misogynist posts, but I do distinctly remember his transphobic posts, and his social darwinist post. That, and the fact that he generally rude and dismissive towards those he disagreed with. HP.

Link might have been the worst poster even without the issues that led directly to his banning. Threads were regularly destroyed by his intervention on account of his combination of extreme aggression with bizarre non-sequiturs that seemed to display an exceptional lack of critical thinking or reading comprehension ability.

My favorite was when Tender Branson asked something like "why do Black people in the US have different accents" and then Link aggressively accused him of claiming that "all Black people sound the same". But obviously "the A's are different from the B's in some respect" is not the same as "the A's are all the same in that respect". Galaxies are bigger than molecules; does this mean all galaxies are the same size? He also seemed to have no understanding of is/ought distinctions, and many posters had the bizarre experience of claiming that something shouldn't happen only to be attacked by Link on the supposed grounds that one would have to be naive to think it didn't happen.

He said at some point that he beat his ex, but I don't remember the exact circumstances of that. He also posted a picture of a girl cowering in a corner with a black eye with the shadow of a man falling on her with the caption "go make me a sandwich" or something like that. He posted this with a comment about how he didn't support women working or gender equality or something.

Recently he implied that women who didn't act like ladies deserved to be beaten up (put in their place, as it were). And also claimed that adultery was worse than violent abuse, which in turn seems to imply that it's ok to beat your partner if she cheats on you.

He was just generally quite creepy.

Plus what others said here about he was an asshole.

Whaaaat? Wow. My attitude towards Link was always that he was an abrasive blowhard but that he had a unique perspective I didn't mind hearing from. I was perplexed when I discovered he was banned and a little bit disappointed. Not now. I don't vote HP often but this, if true, leaves no room for debate. Ugh.
