http://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw/index.ssf/2014/03/felony_charge_for_bridgeport_m.html

Mark Adams was arraigned on a felony charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer, and a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.

What's more disturbing is whatever happened to the 1st amendment from this action.

Not surprising an RSS feed fails to understand the 1st amendment.

The man wasn't arrested for speaking his opinions, he was arrested for disrupting the meeting. He was giving an allotted time. Continuing to speak after that is no different than running in and yelling your views with no prior approval. Had he gone outside and kept speaking, he would not be arrested.

The charges, especially as its a felony one, are quite a bit uncomfortably draconian in regards to this, but this is hardly a 1st amendment violation, nor a notable story of national interest.

These people are invariably the worst. I'm quite sure he's exactly the same type as the middle-aged (and quite probably mentally "off") man who felt inclined to berate the poor bus driver  for a good minute the other day because the "BUS WAS NOT PARALLEL TO THE SIDEWALK!" and shouted what I assume were obscenities at the poor lady. There are people who for some reason feel the need to make their opinion heard too often, too loudly, and too rudely, and, like I said, they're probably a bit wonked in the head.

You can't just go up and speak for as long as you want at town board meetings; doing so would give people (and companies) effective filibuster power over the board.
