Personally, I'd like 1,000 seats but that might not be logistically viable. I'd still like some increase though.

If you think Congress is corrupt now, wait until they have to build consensus amongst 1,000 corrupt special interest representatives.

The Founding Fathers wanted some manner of gridlock, but they didn't intend to cripple the country with corruption and battling-factions.

Yes. At the very least, it should have about 700 seats. Ideally more like a thousand.

We should reduce the House back to around 250 Representatives (and rewrite the "proportional representation" clause to make it truly population based, and it wouldn't hurt to have fifty fewer Senators either...

Think about how many conservative cultists and liberal slum-lords would be silenced by reducing the House to 250 representatives. Nirvana Smiley

Double it in size, halve their pay to save the difference and I think it could work.

Have a system like the German Bundestag with about 750 seats directly elected and 250 seats elected proportionally.

I wouldn't mind going to the cube root rule for the size, which for the 2010 census would increase the size to 676 IIRC.  However, it is hardly a major concern, or even a minor concern.

Should be bigger.

It's a little ridiculous that in many states, state senators have smaller constituencies than US representatives do.

If there's not enough room in the House chamber, then build a new chamber and only use the old one for ceremonial events like the SOTU.

Also, stop paying their travel expenses and start giving them housing allowances. Bring back the 5-day workweek and only let them leave town twice a month unless they're on official business relating to a committee they serve on.

This. If there are more of them they will have to represent less people (which equals better representation) so you can reduce their pay, staff and benefits.

Although I would have probably gone with the cube root rule instead of outright doubling the number of reps.
