All events prior to midnight on January 18, 2011 are deemed to have taken place as in real life

January 19, 2011
Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York

President Obama has done nothing on behalf of minorities in America! As such I have filed paperwork in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada to run for President! I know I would be at least a 10,000 to 1 shot at Belmont Park, but everyone was saying that about President Obama when he ran three years ago, and look at where he is now!

Some of you may have heard that I'm stepping down as Mayor of this great city. That's true, I'm stepping down because I wish to represent you in another way. This Morning I filed to run for President of the United States so we can restore honor to this great Country!

I regret losing such a prominent member of the Hawiian political class that Senator Akaka was, but its time for a change which is why I'm running for the United States Senate.

Hilo Tropical Gardens, Hilo, Hawaii

2010 was fine and all, and I'm glad we won back the House, but we really need to be closer to the center to win back both the Senate and the White House. As such, I announce to Hawaii, and to the country at large that I am running for President of the United States!

Princeville, Hawaii

With Governor Lingle running for President we can afford to take our time deciding what the ideal nominee for Senate is. I believe I meet every criteria needed to be your next Senator, and as such I filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission this Morning.

Ford Center, Evansville, Indiana

I'm 79 years old, and I could be facing the toughest primary of my Senate life.  My Campaign manager believes that a primary at my age could be detrimental to my health, and I'm inclined to agree with him. I've had an excellent run, from being on the Indianapolis School Board, to being mayor of Indianapolis, to capping of my career by chairing the Senate committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Farming, and the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, If I had to do anything over again, I wouldn't do anything differently, except maybe run for President in 1996.

I'm running for the United States Senate because I see a Senate that's in need of Leadership, I see a President who refuses to act on behalf of good of the people and a Congress which refuses to do it's duty and remove him.

Carmel, Indiana

I know it sounds completely crazy for someone to think a State Attorney General could be a viable Presidential option, but the truth is, everyone who the media thinks is "more viable" isn't conservative enough! I can debate better than Governor Lingle or Mayor Leppert, and neither of them filed suit, or directed their Attorney Generals to do so. I did, and with Obamacare as polarizing as it is, as likely to be a disaster.

As much as I would like to see President Obama re-elected, I have some serious differences of opinion with him regarding his policy towards Israel, which is counterproductive, unhelpful for all involved, and only makes the region more dangerous if you are a Jew, Christian, or Muslim who isn't into jihad. And then as if to make matters worse, he deliberately ignored the fact that attempting to pass health care reform would piss off everyone who isn't specifically supportive of the narrow provisions of the bill. The far-left hates him because he's not a socialist, the left him because the health care reform passed was badly watered-down, the right hates him because of his stances on abortion and same-sex marriage, and the far-right hates him because to them he's not a member of their perfect race. With all that, it's no wonder anything gets done! Now I think a different Democrat at the helm would do better, and that is why I am running for President

Richmond, Maine

It's been thirteen years since I last ran for office, fifteen since I last served, and in those years I've seen George Bush break the Contract With America that we in the Republican Revolution fought so hard to implement more times than I can count, I've seen the impeachment drama of Bill Clinton, and Hillary's run for office, when she should've been in a Federal Penitentiary. I've seen Barack Obama put America on a march towards the socialist policies and beliefs of Europe. We need to stop, and reverse this trend. I'm running for President because I'm certain that I'm the candidate that can do this

I know when people think of former military men, they think of Colin Powell, but he's sycophantically toed the Bush line for years. I'm entering the Presidential Race because as retired Vice-Admiral, I've seen how Democracy building adventures in the Middle East have left us unprepared at home abroad. I've seen money wasted on items the military neither wants nor needs, and I've seen good men and women die because the White House didn't give a damn about anything but the political cost.

Not 100% different (I haven't actually decided on what to do with Romney, Gingrich, Santorum etc. Paul is probably running, and Lingles campaign is completely serious... she's just suffering from low name recognition outside of Hawaii)

I see a President who has failed to realize what America wants, he has failed to realize what his party wants. As such I feel it is my duty to oppose him in any way possible, which is why I am running for President!

First Endorsements in unusual GOP race
Honolulu, Hawaii

It's long past, time we broke the glass ceiling of all male politics. But if Hillary Clinton couldn't do it, who could? I believe Linda Lingle can, which is why I'm endorsing her for President.

Belfast, Maine

I know many of you would expect me to endorse the individual from my home state. I can't. He's a relic of a bygone age when people actually wanted some level of cooperation in Government. No, I'm endorsing a fellow Attorney General, who preceded me in filing suit against the devilish act known as Obamacare. I'm endorsing Greg Zoeller for President.

Presque Isle, Maine

It's been a long time since I was last in elective office, twenty-eight years to be exact, and I have never seen nor heard of a document as noble as the Contract With America that members of the 1994 Republican Congressional Freshman Class signed. James Longley Jr. was a member of that freshman class, and now almost twenty later, he wants recreate that ideal in the Oval Office. I'm Proud to endorse him.

Evans, Colorado

As a retired general myself I see the indecision of every administration when it comes to setting goals in foreign policy, the aphasia of every administration when it comes to achieving those goals. I've seen goals set that were impossibly high, like making Democracy bloom like a flower in the sands of Iraq. Vice-Admiral Route knows what war is like, and he will do everything in his power to protect us from it, but should we need to fight one he will give us the tools we need to win it. That is why I'm endorsing Vice-Admiral Ronald Route

Woodside, Queens, New York

I was once a Deputy Mayor under Rudy Giuliani, and infrastructure is my passion of sorts. So I while don't believe Katharine Lapp has a snowball's chance in hell of being the Republican nominee, she does contribute a valuable piece of conversation to this race, that our infrastructure is crumbling. She will have ideas on how to fix it, how to pay for it, and that why I am endorsing her, not because I actually believe she can win.

Belmont, Dallas, Texas

I know it sounds completely strange for a football owner to get involved in electoral politics..Tell it to Woody Johnson! Anyways I heard rumblings about a possible Rick Perry run, and thought I'd tell Mayor Leppert, that think the first Texan in will be the last Texan Standing! Oh and don't tell the Krafts, but I really like them to win the Super Bowl, next year...

Scyene, Dallas, Texas

Being a former member of the Texas Railroad commission, I know that Texas is the leader in oil production in this country. The Obama Administration and, the Democratic party as a whole wants to change this. Tom Leppert will oppose Democrats on every issue if elected President which is why he has earned my endorsement!

Cloquet, Minnesota

At this moment this is not a strong Republican field. At this moment there are two, maybe three serious candidates for President from this party. I mean come on, are you really going to nominate the former director of the MTA, or some back-bencher who last served in Congress twenty years ago? Tim Pawlenty stands head and shoulders above this field, and that is why he earns my endorsement!

Perley, Minnesota

Tim Pawlenty has served the state of Minnesota well, there's no reason to believe he can't do the same nationally. I am proud to support Tim Pawlenty for President

Glencoe, Minnesota

It's a very weak field... More candidates could and will emerge, but as of right now, Tim Pawlenty is my candidate.

I know I couldn't get the job done against Senator Boxer, but right now we need business-people more than ever! I look at this Republican field, and I think Linda Lingle okay, Tim Pawlenty, okay, but where's the experience with budgets that people need to run a bureaucracy the size of our government? Where are those candidates? That's why I, Carly Fiorina will run for President.

It's time to bring real conservatism to the White House! Governors Pawlenty and Lingle are fine people, but they don't represent the Republican Party anymore, and Congressman Paul belongs in the Libertarian Party! With our country suffering from the weakest leadership since before 9/11/01, only a leader from somewhere that has been through the fire before will suffice. We can't have our next President be from a location our enemies don't care about, like Hawaii, or a lesser target, like Minnesota. New York and Washington are the number one targets for those who want to attack this country, and it's important our government reflects that.\

Yonkers, New York

I'm dropping out, because I see just how expansive a Presidential Race is and unprepared for even a County Executive I was. I am endorsing Governor Pataki, who as I understand it, announced his candidacy this morning, based on the facts that I owed my job at the MTA to him, and that us New Yorkers have to stick together.

Pataki arrangedmeetings between Bernie Madoff and SEC commissioners
By Micheal Gormley

In a followup story first reported by the Drudge Report late on Friday Afternoon, Newsday today received confirmation that Former New York Governor George Pataki, currently running for President assisted convicted swindler Bernie Madoff in setting up multiple meetings with members of the Securities and Exchange Commission between March 2003 when Pataki was still Governor, and October 2008, roughly two months before Madoff's arrest. According to Madoff, who we interviewed in his jail cell at Butner Federal Correctional Complex, on Saturday Night, the first meeting was on March 26, 2003 with Commissioner Paul Atkins at a cafe in Bronxville New York and that Pataki was present. He added that Pataki was not present at later meetings but that he would continue too arrange them, and that a member of Pataki's staff would always call Madoff when dates and times were arranged. Later meetings took place between Madoff and Harvey Goldschmid on July 11, 2004 at Fiore's Fish Market in Freeport, New York, with Kathleen Casey on May 9, 2007 in the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his meeting on October 15, 2008 with Elisse Walter in The Winter Garden Atrium in Manhattan, New York. Madoff is currently serving a sentence of 150 years in prison. None of the SEC Commissioners Madoff named would respond to our request for an interview or statement.
Pataki spokesman and Campaign Chair for New York, John Catsimatidis called the allegations "absurd, and demeaning to Governor Paktaki".

Mount Croghan, South Carolina

In taking President Obama down we cannot afford to be any bit impure in our conservatism, we cannot afford to have stooges to scoundrels like Bernie Madoff, RINOS like Linda Lingle and Tim Pawlenty. There's a reason John McCain chose me almost three years ago, and it wasn't my looks! And so today, I announce here in Beautiful South Carolina, that I will run for President of the United States of America, to take our country back from the traitor in the Oval Office!
