My interest is piqued. You don't see too many TLs that start at this point in American politics.

Although I will say....lists look a lot better and are easier to read if they are not centered. Wink

Dawg, if you're gonna do a list that seems to have the appearance of a "date-by-date" format, could you at least include the dates? Otherwise, just popping "1987" up at the top would be nice. And someone's goals in running for president are not that "the Reagan Era hurt America".

A House on Fire

"All I'm lookin' at is for God's America to be actually realized"-Pat Robertson

With the campaign starting to burn over on the Republican side, especially the three main Candidates at odds with Ted Kennedy's new "economic Stimulus" bill in the Senate, which was an attempt to boost the flailing economy, by pumping around 400 million into it, while most to all Democratic Candidates agreed that it was the best foot forward, the Republicans were split, with Bush completely opposing it, Cohen supporting it, Robertson having mixed feelings, and newcomers Kean and Rumsfeld offering alternate solutions, but a grating thing came with Robertson's continued mentioning of God in speeches, at first, many didn't mind it, considering he was a reverend, but soon after, many people got sick of it, so much so, that Cohen snapped in a debate only 2 days before the Michigan Primary after Robertson was talking about Religion, shouting "Will you cut the crap!?", while he apologized, that moment would stick around for the entire race, and created a negative effect on Michigan.

Michigan Republican Primary, January 14 1988

George H.W Bush 33%
William Cohen 36%
Pat Robertson 20%
Thomas Kean 10%*

*Donald Rumsfeld not on ballot.

While on the Democratic Side, Governor White was appearing on stage with Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton, campaigning in Iowa, bashing on about Hart and how White for America was a message for the Future, but little known among anyone, was Terrorist Timothy McVeigh, who had been deemed mentally unstable, but had been roaming around the crowd, but catching no one's attention, then suddenly, rushing through the bystanders, unloading his Glock upon the Speakers, then saying the line he was rehearsing oh so many times

"SEE YA IN HELL WHITE!"
