Atlanta
Miami
DC (Dulles)
Philadelphia
Boston

Frankfurt
Amsterdam

San Pedro Sula (Honduras)

not sure how the Bacon King of 9 years ago forgot two airports:

1. London Heathrow, I visited it literally on the same trip as Frankfurt and Amsterdam

2. New Orleans - which was and is literally my second most visited airport after Atlanta! While attending Tulane, I made the flight between ATL and MSY probably four different times - about as often as I made the trip on Amtrak's Southern Crescent line. (of course once I moved off-campus to live in my frat house I finally had somewhere to park my car for free, after that I mostly just drove between home and school)

Lifetime:

United States:
Sacramento (home)
Las Vegas (1999, 2021, 2022x2)
Orange County/John Wayne (2005ish)
Atlanta (2009)
New York - JFK (2009)
Salt Lake City (2009, 2022)
Ontario, Calif. (2017)
Denver (2018, 2022)
Reno (2021)
Albuquerque (2021)
Phoenix (2022)
Oklahoma City (2022)
Seattle (2023) - very large airport—many jetways, but they had ramps for my planes
Kalispell/Glacier Park (2023) - very small airport—two jetways, but they had ramps for my plane

*Note: SMF->SEA and SEA->FCA (Kalispell) were both on Embraer E-175s, a 76 passenger jet, not a little podunk turboprop puddlejumper. They used a jetway at SMF. I had literally never used a ramp before landing in Seattle and it felt like I was back in the 50s.

Surely you've flown/transferred flights in Frankfurt at least once, of all the travel you've done.

FRA/FIAP = one of the worst airports in the world, especially for those of us in the "show-up-5-hours-early-before-an-international-departure" category, because there's no grub/shopping beyond the security gates.   Unless that's changed recently.

No, never, and it sounds like luckily for me. I've found a couple of European airports to be like this, where there is stuff beyond security but not beyond immigration (Copenhagen and Lisbon come to mind). I actually was supposed to transfer next year through FRA on my JFK-SIN flight, but Singapore Airlines just changed it to a direct flight instead. Phew!

After like my third time flying out of FRA, I eventually learned my lesson and just started hanging out in that weird KPMG spaceship-egg building for several hours beforehand.  Lots of decent places to eat, read the paper, and people-watch before heading to the terminals.

How does one "visit" the airport in Split but not actually flown in/out of there (that was actually a major NATO air hub to/from my deployments from Germany to the Balkans back in the day)

Doesn't Split remind you of El Paso, but with cobblestoned streets and a beach?

I returned a rental car there. Picked it up in Zagreb, drove through Bosnia to Split, and from there I boarded a friend's yacht to Dubrovnik.

Ha, I never would have thought of a comparison to El Paso! Split is an actual city, as opposed to the collection of used car lots that masquerades as a city in Far West Texas.

I like Nutmeg's idea, though I expanded by using the electoral count to show the number of airports in each state. These are my airports flown in or out. There are 98 on this map, but I have 97 by FAA code. That's because the FAA reused the DEN code from Denver Stapleton in the city and assigned it to Denver International way outside the city when it started operations. The locations are far apart and it's not like a new terminal or change in runway configurations.

Nothing new booked yet in 2024, but I expect May will add another OR airport.

Tremendous idea, Muon. I'll do the same.
