DEUS VOTED TO RAISE TAXES ON FOOD

Bill: End Social Engineering Act
Purpose: To Repeal Tax Relief for Northeast food producers and vendors
Sponsor: Rep. Deus

The bill in question would repeal tax cuts for Northeastern food producers and vendors. It would raise taxes on the producer, which will drive up their prices, and also increase taxes at the point-of-sale. Amounting to a big tax increase for Northeastern consumers.

This is especially disturbing since Deus has run a campaign to outflank The People's Candidate, Simfan, on the right. If Deus supported tax hikes once, how can we know he won't support them again? Simfan opposes tax increases and will fight the TNF-Labor agenda. *Not* raise taxes on food.

People that have yet to vote deserve to know that Deus voted for an increase in one of the most regressive forms of taxation.

Simfan voted for a $13.50 minimum wage. Is that better than removing an unnecessary tax break?

You realize that bill granted income tax cuts to corporate food executives? It had nothing to do with the sales tax.

Maybe we could see a text of this bill so we can decide for ourselves?

That seems like a good bill. Deus was wrong in attempting to repeal it, though not for the reasons Mr. Keaton states.

I applaud Deus' fiscally responsible bill. Like most Atlasians, he does not support or tolerate government carve-outs for big wigs!

Personally, I think the government should encourage healthy eating, but that's just me.

Interesting that TheRileyKeaton is attacking a sincere pro-market libertarian for actually being, well, pro-market. I don't agree with Deus' position but it's kind of dodgy coming from TheRileyKeaton, a known right-winger, to be sniping someone with whom he probably has a lot in common in terms of actual policy. It's just Riley being disingenuous (shocker!) in order to attack Deus for partisan gain. Deus and Alfred alike bring real ideas to the table, unlike Riley's favorite candidate, who'd rather we just post vague platitudes about "MUH PEOPLE" instead of legislate anything of value.

How does one measure "70% of their food product?"  Is that by mass?
