Former Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) defeats former U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton (D) in a heated close contest: 50% to 49%.

Republicans easily hold onto the House and Senate (having won control in 2014); here's how the Perry administration would have looked like:
President -Rick Perry
VP-Scott Walker
Secretary of State-John Bolton
Secretary of Defense-Tommy Franks
Homeland Security-Rudy Giuliani
Agriculture-Dave Heineman
Housing & Urban Development-Michael Steele
Attorney General-Wallace Jefferson
Transportation-Aaron Schock
Treasury-Meg Whitman
Interior-Linda Lingle
Commerce-Brian Sandoval
Veterans Affairs-David Dewhurst
Energy-Dan Boren
HHS-Bobby Jindal
Education-Jeb Bush
FBI Director-Jan Brewer
CIA Director-Michael McCaul
U.S. Ambassador to the UN-Marco Rubio

Any thoughts?

Perry gets elected in 2016 due to the following factors:
1.) Obama fatigue after 8 years
2.) Backlash against Democrats over Obamacare
3.) The economy continues to tank badly on Obama's watch.
4.) Perry's Nixon-like Law and Order platform is popular with Middle Americans in the South and Midwest, including the Great Lakes.
5.) Folks being tired of the Clintons.

President Perry pushes for a national Voter ID Law, which ticks off the Democrats in Capitol Hill.

Why do you consider yourself a Democrat if you support Rick Perry for God's sake? I could understand traditional blue dem dogs that enjoy some fake moderate Republicans like Dole and Bush I but why do you stand for one of the mainco servatives in the Republican Party? Why do you stand for the man that will erase Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare, all of them Democratic Legacies!

I don't know, maybe you are a reminescent of the Dixiecrat Clan but even so, I cannot fully understand your love for Republicans, specially Perry, and your hatred for almost every Democrat that is in office (except for Joe Manshin? Perhaps), while still being a Democrat!

Meanwhile as this is happening, thousands of inconsolable Americans begin committing suicide across the country at these tragic developments.

Summer 2017: President Perry faces challenges from a hostile Congress and some members of his administration, some questioning whether he's capable of leading the country on national security matters.
