CD-4: Starrett raised $91,699 in the fourth quarter, leaving him with $728,773 cash on hand. However, the vast majority of his contributions are from out of state, and naturally the DesJarlais campaign has made note of that.

I'd be pretty surprised if we don't have Rep. Starrett in a year.

DesJarlais has survived his last 2 primaries, I don't see how this year would be any different.

No Democrat even filed to challenge Marsha Blackburn!!

The only races really worth watching are TN-04, TN-06, and TN-08, and all of them only for the primary.  In 2018, the GOP should recruit a country music star to challenge Cooper with a midterm electorate.  If that fails, we can pretty easily redistrict into a 8-1 map after 2020.

CD-4: DesJarlais internal by Market Street Research shows DesJarlais leading Starrett 61%-8% and with a 61% favorable, 25% unfavorable rating. Meanwhile, the Starrett campaign claims that their polling "predicts a statistical dead heat", but they didn't give any specific numbers.

No Democrat even filed to challenge Marsha Blackburn!!

It makes no sense for someone to waste their time or money in that seat.

I am supporting Grant Starrett for the 4th and Brian Kelsey for the 8th as well as all of the incumbent Republicans running for reelection.  I'm not sure yet who I will actually vote for to take on Jim Cooper in the 5th (not that it matters unless a YUGE wave formes).

Jim Cooper isn't losing. He's so moderate that he voted for Colin Powell for Speaker multiple times. (Obligatory reminder that Powell is still a republican and voted for GWB twice.)

CD-8: Flinn leads in TV ad spending, at $510,000, followed by Kelsey at $134,000. Kustoff $88,000; Lutrell, $5,800; Greer $2,600; the rest nothing. COH: Flinn, $2.7 million; Kelsey, $426,000; Kustoff $314,000; Luttrell, $143,000 (numbers as of April). Click the link for more details from the Commercial Appeal.

Flinn always throws away millions with "moderate" results at best. Luttrell seems most sane candidate to me, but $143.000 for ultracompetitive (in primary) race is too little...
