Sad to hear this; he was an American hero, and it is sad to hear of his passing.

Forgive me for being insensitive, but a lot of the figures from the Carter era are dropping like flies this week Tongue.

According to the reports accompanying this, it was more than he could imagine as well.  He had stated that if he had known at the outset that it would be a seven year ordeal, he doubted he would have the strength to endure it, but because he only needed to have the strength to endure one day at a time, he was able to find it within himself.
