Good question.

Essentially, we had an issue with former AG Benconstine where he said, via PM I believe, that he would resign, but never posted publicly. The Senate was caught in limbo because it did not really know how to address a resignation it could only know about secondhand. To avoid a debate as silly as the one surrounding Benconstine's impeachment, I suggest we have a specific rule on the books regarding resignations.

I motion for unanimous consent to waive the minimum debate time and proceed to a final vote.
