Secretary of State is probably the more powerful position

Secretary of State seems like it would be a far more interesting job. Unless the President is conveniently assassinated at exactly the two year mark. Wink

Vice President obviously.

Biden always seems to be having a lot more fun than either Hillary or Kerry.

The VP, I'd like to do more of the "Eating Cereal in the Oval Office", than do the hard stuff.

I'd rather take both roles simultaneously, as I don't believe there is any constitutional problem with such an arrangement. I would prefer something larger than a 757 though (as I recall Hillary mentioning that that plane wasn't all too comfortable for the duties of her office and the time spent on it).

So you want both the heavy workload AND the probability of being forced into the highest position in the land if the President croaks?

Good lord no.  I'll just take the Vice Presidency and go on camera with my face powdered with cocaine if forced into the big spot.  Seriously, I'd rather be in prison than be President.

Vice President, as I can influence foreign and domestic policy there.

Vice President, and I would exercise my authority by regularly presiding over the Senate.

Secretary of State, to actually have a modicum of influence. The Vice President can easily be sidelined.
