Hahaha, that's the most obviously scripted thing I've ever seen.

Why isn't appearing with Republican challengers in Democratic held swing districts? I mean, it certainly would be a boost to have the Speaker of the House doing ads for them. Seems like a waste of time for him to do ads in his own safe district.

Internal polling must be telling them something.

Because he's incredibly unpopular as Speaker? It'd be like Obama campaigning with a vulnerable Dem.

Obama doesn't have a 65% disapproval rating.

I was jesting about him being in ads, because he is unpopular and that would be a major drag on any candidate in a swing district.

Given his low approvals among Americans (and even negative approvals in his home district), he could have been in trouble if he didn't have 3 Tea Party challengers splitting the vote in Gurr, Ashworth, and Winteregg, but then again they tried recruiting behind one Tea Partier in 2012 and failed then to only getting 16% of the vote, so the Ohio Tea Party can just never catch a break and Boehner has nothing to worry about. He's a lot more unpopular than President Obama is to, so going to Fitzpatrick's, Joyce's, Coffman's, Southerland's etc. won't be of much help to them and what he should be doing is not wasting his $11 mil on his own re-election and giving it to vulnerable Republican incumbents elsewhere. Besides, if he wants to be personally fearful of anything, it's not OH-8, but it should be whether or not he can hold onto the Speakership in 2015.

And kind of OT from this, but the sole, write-in challenger Boehner had from 2012, James Condit, is running again but this time with the Constitution Party and he seems to have gotten enough signatures to get on the ballot this time. It won't change anything, but this is a regular perennial who normally runs down there. There's shockingly a Democratic primary to and despite it being a safe district, it's great when all parties (Tea Party Republicans, Democrats, Constitution) can come together and just hate on Boehner. Tongue

And yeah, that ad is the most scripted bull[Inks] I've ever seen. They've either completely forgot that the government shutdown happened or they're so stuck-up that they don't think it was Boehner's fault at all.

GOP taking back Congress claimed title of reform in 2010 due to the failure of Banks and TARP that was handed to them. Starting with Bridgegate and on down to tea party shutdown of govt, they also abused power and corruption.

If he wasnt confrontational and take the tea party on like he should of done during the shutdown, people wouldn't comment about it as much. We do associate crying more so with female politicians.

I was referring to Nancy Reagan and Betty Ford showing their emotions during their husbands' funerals.

Well, that's typical, you'd normally cry during a funeral, why wouldn't you?

Maybe, he should show compassion while working with Dems on working on legislation. Instead, he obstructs, instead of relenting because under a Democratic prez the GOP can't get credit. He is simply waiting out Obama in passing the Ryan plan under a GOP prez next term.

3 weeks before the primary, one of Tea Party candidates to the Speaker, JD Winteregg, a high school teacher, has gained what he set out for and that's national attention.

Winteregg is out with an ad that doesn't look as scripted as Boehner's, but man is it funny and parody's Cialis (even word for word in the beginning) with "electile dysfunction." He effectively is going after Boehner's "moments" with President Obama, having been in Congress too long, being useless and spineless, and pointing out his terrible smoking habit and defines his own views on the issues, but the "fake disease" spiel, corny music, terrible announcer and so many other things make this ad look just so bad.

If I were Winteregg, I would have also mentioned Boehner's history of weeping and maybe connecting him as someone who's "not a real man." That seems like something Southern Ohio would eat up maybe, I don't know. Though if it wasn't already obvious, he'll lose and he barely had enough money for an ad that was mostly comedy and probably has little money left on hand now. Aren't teachers supposed to be more intelligent than this?

Let's just say that one of Boehner's longshot opponents just put out an ad approximately 85 times more awesome than that wet fart of an ad:
