Thanks for opening this, Cris!

I sincerely hope we can have a very active race (and hopefully a debate). Three is not a bad number, but we only have two weeks until the election, so I encourage all potential candidates to declare soon.

Any thoughts on who else might run?

Bump! We now have Alfred and Shua running for reelection, and Simfan announced that he is running as well. That should automatically make it a competitive election with 6 candidates, but is there anyone else who might run?

"This is the thread for the Senate Election, but in these there is an important election: the Pacific gubernatorial election.
Incumbent governor DemPGH (Lab-WA) is running for re-election. Speaker Flo (Ind-AK), after losing the Labor Party endorsement against DemPGH, has made the decision to continue the campaign as an Indipendent candidate.
This is a very interesting race and we will follow this race."

37,9% IN

Governor DemPGH (Lab-WA) 7, 63,6%
Speaker Flo (Ind-AK) 4, 36,4%

Flo doing some strong voter turnout, and it looks like even if he loses, he'll probably get his seat back thanks to write-in second prefs over Devin.

I did some tracking with the council, maybe you're interested:

(DemPGH is last vote counted):

TheCranberry: 6
Simfan: 4
Devin: 1 (4 second preference)

Flo: 1 (3 second preference)

If I'm counting right, Devin gets the third seat.

The first poll for the April Senate race has been released for the public:

Conclusion of Senate poll
Senator Alfred Jones (Lab-RI) - 17.1%
Senator Shua (DR-VA) - 14.6%
Senator Lumine (TPP-WY) - 12.2%
Former Senator Simfan (TPP-CA) - 12.2%
PA Speaker Flo (Ind-FL) - 9.8%
Senator Talleyrand (Lab-VT) - 9.8%
Senator Goldwater (Fed-DE) - 9.8%
NE Assemblyman Deus (DR-NY) - 7.3%
ME Assemblyman JCL (Fed-IN) - 4.9%
Someone Else   - 2.4%

As it turns out, while the field is rather scattered, there is a top tier: Above 10% is Alfred F. Jones, riding out with maximum Labor support, Shua, combining Federalist appeal with Democratic Republican appeal, and Simfan and Lumine, both members of the small but very powerful The People's Party. The rest is scattered, a three way tie [Senator Talleyrand announced in the midst of polling that he would not be a candidate for re-election] for fifth may break in favor of Flo should he gain back the trust of Laborites, leaving Senator Goldwater in some trouble. Lastly is Northeast Assemblyman Deus, who might not run on account of Senator shua's presence, and Mideast Assemblyman JCL, who gets the last bit of support among Federalists.

Ladies and gentlemen, if there is a field this big, we have a race on our hands

Yeah, we have a huge field and a race that looks potentially competitive, so why has this race been so quiet?

Adam has campaigned some, but I wouldn't even know who the other candidates were if Cris were not keeping track in this thread.

I would be willing to hold a debate if any candidates are interested (in concert with someone from a different party, if desired).

I merely announced and gave some appeals a couple of weeks ago, but yes, it has been a dissapointing campaign for most of the candidates. I am more than willing to have a debate!

My vote is open for purchase for anyone, yet I have received no monetary offers so far. I am about to close my doors to them and just vote however I want.
