Not my cup of tea, although it could be much worse.

The ideologue is likeable and fun to debate, but the ideology is toxic.

I can't stand the lax use of the word 'ideology'. I object.

You're gonna see a lot of this on this forum. You'd better accept it as a necessary evil than try to fight it.

Way different than mine, but just because an ideology is different, does not mean it is bad necessarily. Reasonable minds can differ, folks give different weights to competing considerations, and sometimes one's surmises about where one's policy prescriptions will lead, and whether it really gets one effectively from point A to B, vary too. Anyway, I suspect we both have the same goals in the end - more opportunity, more equality, better educated people, more tolerance of diversity, and so forth. That is one thing I love about Hudson - being up close and personal with folks from all walks of life and color and ethnicity. That is what causes one's own horizons to expand, by being better able to step into the shoes of "the other," - to empathize more as it were. For me at least, it helps me to continue to "grow" as a person.  The journey is the thing,  more than actually getting to the destination, for me. Once I get there, I get restless and bored. Anyway, the end of yet another prolix and ennui inducing Torie post. Smiley

I think he might be offended if I said we have someone in common.

Still, can't knock the avatar.

His foreign policy is a nightmare. Besides that, we're pretty similar I guess.

Well, I don't really like your economic views on union etc. But seriously, you're like Bloomberg, I would have probably voted for him for the NY mayoral election. So I probably could support you without any problem. You're great on environment, on gun after all.
But you wouldn't be my first choice.

I really don't see anything fundamentally different from me, other than he seems a bit more "party-line".  To his credit, this is somewhat rubbing off on me nowdays, though I think it'll be awhile before I start damning Ralph Nader for 2000.

Also, while I'm at it:

I think he might be offended if I said we have someone in common.

lol I guess so.  If it makes you feel any better my favorite political figure of the 20th century is Clement Attlee.  A true British hero!

NatPro has a very interesting ideology which - like most uncommon idealogical bents - is wholly unsuited for the modern "you're either with us or against us" rigid two-party system. Though I disagree with him on his Nationalist leanings, his pro-life beliefs and am very cynical of his love of technocracy and such; I think his viewpoints are cohesive and come from a logical starting point.

Overall FI

I would prefer him to be more economically liberal (which by the I mean I'd still prefer him to overall economically conservative, but just less so. Sorry for stating the obvious,) and a bit more hawkish on foreign policy, but his ideology is not that bad.

A little bit too centrist for centrists sake, but it's one of the better ones on this site, so I'll take what I can get.
