Aggregate average: 54.1% Approval (Grover Cleveland bellwether)

Just adding up all the %'s and dividing by 42, not using actual votes or anything.

Republican aggregate average (18): 52.9% Approval
Democrat aggregate average  (14): 49.4% Approval
Other aggregate average (10): 62.8% Approval

However...

Modern day republican aggregate average (1960-present) (5): 36.6% Approval
Modern day democrat aggregate average (1960-present) (4): 59.3% Approval

So things have obviously changed. Ask me if you want to do an aggregate average for a specific time period.

The fact that Jimmy Carter has higher approval ratings than Theodore Roosevelt is a testament to the left-wing bias of this forum.

Good work keeping up with this, and actually following through.  It's been interesting to see the (rather biased) view of the forum.  You should do another series similar to this.

To be fair, many conservatives/libertarians probably voted "HP" for Teddy.

I never knew that! Well, he is a definite FF.

Going further, Carter:

  • Was against government enforced housing quotas
  • Had a foreign policy that was the least interventionist of the Cold War presidents
  • Negotiated peace between Egypt and Israel
  • Opposed the Iraq War

In his acceptance speech at the DNC in 1976 he said, "Any system of economics is bankrupt if it sees either value or virtue in unemployment."

You should do the Vice Presidents next.

I'm not sure, although it would be interesting, there is no doubt I would get much less votes due to people not knowing who they are. There would have to be a little more thought and research done to form an opinion, so it wouldn't be as popular, even if many vice presidents were also presidents.
