Both are disgusting men, but I'll lean on Adelson as far as being the "better" one.

Adelson needlessly dragged out a presidential primary for months longer than it ought to have gone on, wasting millions and hurting his own party in the process.

I don't know why people act as if George Soros is in any way comparable to Adelson/Koch/etc. The only reason Soros got involved in the 2004 election to the extent that he did was because Boone Pickens and other rich Texans were engaged in a cheap smear campaign against John Kerry called "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth."

I guess Soros, mostly because he isn't looking to bribe anyone for a presidential pardon. Adelson is.

Adelson, if only because he funded the second funniest campaign of 2012.

Adelson.  I don't get why the Democrats are OK with George Soros giving millions to support Democrats, but when Adelson and the Koch bros. give millions to the GOP, they're a threat to democracy.

I'll go with Soros.  His U.S. political contributions are small potatoes compared to what he has given to through the Open Society Foundations, which has been an FF endeavor on the whole.  There are some concerns about his role in the currency markets, but I don't know enough on that subject to even begin to speculate.

Adelson controls a political party (well, joint ownership with the Kochs). Soros does not.

Right, the Democratic Party is a jointly owed and finance venture of big bankers, universities, and tech companies.

Do you honestly believe that the Socialist Party wouldn't immediately be co-opted by big business the second they broke out of 0.0001% of the vote?

Socialist parties the world over have more often than not been co-opted by organized labor and led by labor federations, rather than big business. It's only in the past few decades that we've seen business make inroads in those parties; but to directly answer your question, no, I am not naive enough to think that co-option would be impossible in these parties and they lose their revolutionary character, because that is exactly what has happened in the case of all the socialist parties of the first world. But then again I also am not naive enough to think that electing socialists instead of electing Democrats is going to solve our problems. Electoral politics and indirect representation are capitalist institutions by design because they disconnect wielding power from he or she who holds said power. They represent political alienation in addition to the economic and social alienation enforced by capitalism. Only direct action, in the form of building counter-institutions, agitation, and action, can solve our problem. Capitalism will not be brought down by the vote.
