Game of Thrones, but if Update had $50 million per season budgets, who knows...

Update can be good or not (I've never looked into the thread), but it's Game of Thrones, which naturally beats everything.

If Bushie had $50 million to spend each season much of Update's plotlines wouldn't exist.

Actually no Bushie would probably find some way to blow all of it (Can easily see him losing $50 million on some Madoff-esque pyramid scheme.)

In all honesty I doubt it'd read any different with $50 million. He'd still spend 12 hours a day watching TV and eat his double bacon cheeseburgers at places like Braum's and Oklahoma Joe's. At least Inks' horrible and endless pontificating on the virtues of employment and hard work would be rendered moot.

Well, suppose it's not Bushie himself who has the $50 million.  Suppose HBO simply commissions Benioff and Weiss (or others of comparable talent) to create a $50 million per season adaptation of Update.  Would that show be able to compete with Game of Thrones?

Why would Update require $5 million an episode? It needs the low budget indie style treatment.

I'd think of an Update film having a budget of about $2 million, so if each episode is an hour and there's 10 a season, that'd be equivalent to about $1 million an episode and thus only $10 million. And because of reuse of sets and all that you could cut that even lower, probably even in half. $50 million a season for Update would probably be overdoing it.

Hiring Robert Downey Jr. to play Russ Powers isn't gonna be cheap.

Game of Thrones, obviously. Update was only amusing, not entertaining.

Keep in mind Russ Powers doesn't appear until a rather late season. He might be willing to do it cheap after the critically acclaimed first couple seasons (minus the very poorly received season set in Utah, which was retconned to the point where it's basically no longer canon.)

Even if Game of Thrones wasn't a great show, it still has titties. GoT (normal)

The pre-Utah, pre-Kenya doldrums in 2011 were far more boring than Utah.  2010 was Update's best year, and 2011 its worst year.
