I think we're starting to have enough inside jokes and references that this forum deserves a fan convention all on its own.

1. We could finally all meet! (I know some would prefer not to)
2. We can pay our respects in person to Don. Dave Leip.
3. Real debates between posters that we can watch.

Any ideas for a location?
Booths?
Presentations?

I'll be there as long as I have time, money, transportation, and am meeting up with a poster that's 21. Will be attending few if any of the events, though. Maybe a What-If? or History panel discussion.

Only question is, would we refer to each other by our forum names, or by our real names?

I'd definitely attend an Update panel. Maybe rickroll and Russ Powers could attend as special surprise guests?

It'd probably end up a bloody, bitter fist fight if opebo shows up, though if not, I'd still expect that.

Maybe we can have a room for boxing and/or sumo wrestling?

Clearly if a ATLASFORUMCON were held, it should be in either Oklahoma or Thailand, and in either case it needs to someplace where an Ingress portal exists.

I'd be very happy to join if it's held in a period when I'm free (ie june/july/august).

This convention could go places.

Could we have panels and discussions on certain forum topics? Atlasia?  The Update? Maybe a group interview with The Update's cast?

Yeah, I'd much prefer a convention that focused specifically on Update.

I think the location should be centrally located, such as Chicago, Dallas, or Houston.

^^^

I've talked about doing something in DC this summer.  I'm happy to help arrange once the semester winds down a bit.

Will we have to wear stickers with our username and avatar on them?

Funnily enough, I'm pretty sure the person I live the closest to is Keystone Phil. I do go to Lancaster on occasion though.

Pretty sure Snowstalker, Carl (whose six month leave of absence is coming to a close soon, IIRC), and Sawx live in the same county.

I personally think it'd be more fun to recognize the people who have posted in PAPOY and try to figure out who's who based on conversation/political beliefs.

20RP12 doesn't live in Lancaster County, and he isn't coming back to Atlas. He might come there for college though.
