Outside of America people can pick any doctor they want and get to see him/her no matter what? Weird. It must suck to be a doctor outside of America.
Well, to be fair, from the doctor's perspective, the American system probably is one of the best. Your statement is hyperbole, of course, but guaranteed care with regulated prices does tend to lead to doctors working more and making less money. At least in Germany, I would happily admit that doctors are dramatically underpaid for the work they do.
Of course, offering universal care and not requiring people to consider whether they can afford basic medical treatment is worth that, in my opinion....but it'd be better if we found a way to balance interests a bit better.
