Adams has wrecked the Union with his foolish alliance with France, leading us into some republican "holy war" of his that we will never see the end of. He condemns a standing army while trying to raise as much force against the British Navy as possible through use of his "mosquito boats". A failure in every regard.

Why does Burr get his own option but not Pinckney? Burr wasn't actually competing with Jefferson for the Presidency; the only reason the election went to the House between the two was because of a Democratic-Republican electoral blunder that resulted in Burr being tied with Jefferson for the most votes. Of course, this poll isn't really representative of the way presidential elections worked at the time, because in 1800, each elector cast two votes, so each elector voted for Jefferson/Burr or Adams/Pinckney (except for one elector that voted for Adams/Jay, because unlike the Democratic-Republicans, the Federalists were clever enough to vote in such a way that, if they were victorious in the electoral college, Pinckney would simply become VP rather than the election going to the House).

That all said, I voted for Burr. Had I been alive and in a position to vote at the time, I almost certainly would've been swept up in the Revolution of 1800, but with hindsight, it's clear that Burr would never have undertaken the tyrannical Embargo of 1807, which was the worst action of the Jefferson administration.
