Gerry Caplan was on Power and Politics today.  He said he didn't understand Andrea Horwath at all and remarked that it didn't make sense for her to want to trigger an election when you're at 20% in the polls and vote down a budget you would pretty much implement if she was premier.

Except the reasons cited in Susanna Kelley's piece had nothing to do with the budget or even policy... plus federal NDP and QC's CAQ weren't in a prime poll position either.

I'm extremely pessimistic about all of this. We'll probably end up with Premier Hudak.

Press threw a lot of hardballs but she threw them back in that presser. So will Wynne wait for the formal vote or see the LG herself?

Prediction: Tories win the PV but lose in seat count. Another Liberal minority.

I assume the election will take place under the old boundaries?

I assume the election will take place under the old boundaries?

Why wouldn't they? There's been no redistribution at the provincial level.

I had no idea where they were in that process Tongue

Big mistake for Andrea. She should've waited for Wynne to pull the trigger.

Wynne will see the LG @ 2 - Benzie.

There are two possibilities:

(a)  She will ask him to dissolve the legislature and call an election; or
(b)  She's going to wipe all the incriminating e-mails off his hard drive.

Hah. "With a government so dissolute, dissolution was imperative."

I'm hoping that the NDP can win power a la 1990, I don't trust the Libs to have non-corrupt governance and the PCs are awful on everything.

I feel Horwath didn't come off very well in her press conference...

Wynne was the nervous one IMO. Here are the 2 press conferences and Hudak's town hall, FWIW.

Paikin's take, excellent IMO.
