It really says something that I've been alive for 25 years and lived in the same state and have only had four governors in my lifetime.

Ah, yes, the ole SMU slush fund scandal. Their football program is still irrelevant 27 years later.

I recall an apocryphal story about how when he was accused of lying during a deposition, he said something to the effect of, "If you didn't swear an oath on The Bible beforehand, there's no reason to assume what you're about to say is the truth."

His various indiscretions aside, he did start the process of reforming the state prison system, which was among the country's worst at the time in terms of the conditions and abuse inmates were subject to. And unlike today's Republicans, he didn't waste a bunch of time on emotional social issues.

Born: 1995 in Indiana

Evan Bayh (1989-1997)
Frank O'Bannon (1997-2003)
Joe Kernan (2003-2005)

Mitch Daniels (2005-2013)
Mike Pence (2013 - present)

From August 2000 to May 2001, I lived in Cranfield, England. I have no idea what leader that would be, if there is one at all.
England don't have states, would've been Tony Blair.
