Media already rolling with "This is because of ObamaCare rollout" spin, even though the ACA is doing better than ever.

Interesting; I pictured him appointing Nancy-Ann DeParle, though a quick wikipedia check shows she resigned a year ago. I didn't know that.

Well, any speculation on who will go to OMB? Tongue

Sebelius is spinning that the resignation was planned to be after the end of the roll out in March. It seems to explain why the administration already has a replacement vetted and ready to go.

It won't stop the media spin though. Burwell's nomination process will likely be the nastiest since Obama tried to go with Susan Rice as SoS. Even though the roll out was bad at first, I kind of hoped Sebelius would stay until the end of the presidency. I fully expect the Cruz types in the Senate to block any nominee that doesn't outright say they're going to do everything in their power to cause the ACA's repeal.

Almost certainly someone neither you or I have ever heard of.

I tend to follow minor level White House staff more closely than usual. I'm oddly excited about OMB being filled Tongue.

Good riddance. Political appointments are fine, unless you appoint an incompetent ass.  RIP.

Strange. She got through the worst of the pressure, but resigns now?

I imagine if the ACA had had a happy rollout, she would have left before this, but she had to stick it out until the end of signup.

She took the hits, now toss her and the baggage. Force Republicans to piss off their constituents by voting for an Obamacare supporter or cause another ted cruz fiasco. Its close enough to the elections and Democrats can say the ACA can be better implemented now.

When the President of the United States has to give statements himself or answer questions about why one of his departments are complete f[inks]ups, on his signature issue, you can rest assured that department head's fate was sealed after statement #1.

Wasn't it long suspected that she would leave after she set up Obamacare? I was hoping he'd go with Dean though.

Not surprised, after all many if not most Cabinet secretaries serve through only one term.
