If I withdraw, the bill would stay the on floor for a set period of time (48 to 72 hours can't reember which righ now) until no sponsor were to accept, at which point it can be taken from the floor.

There are three ways to get a bill off the floor. Final vote, tabling and withdrawal.


Tabling requires two-thirds vote of those voting and a second to a get to a vote. If everyone votes nay on a final vote, you can remove the bill once six nays have been achieved in a row. That is potentially the quickest the route.

I don't think we were ready for a vote.  Unless we can be sure that there are no current sanctions on Israel, I encourage my fellow Senators to vote for this bill so that it can be redrafted to clarify our trade and military relations going forward.
