Walker beats out Paul and Christie and Martinez agrees to run with him. Clinton doesn't run, leaving a void filled by Cuomo. He selects Amy Klobuchar to counter Walker in the Midwest.

I think I would vote for Walker, though Cuomo is a Democrat I would consider. I think Walker could also win, even though Cuomo is a solid speaker and a fiscal moderate.

Walker/ Martinez - 301
Cuomo/Klobuchar - 237

I don't think Cuomo is a good candidate.

I don't see Cuomo losing Pennsylvania considering he's a better fit for the area than Walker and Philly is right in his neck of the woods.

The Democratic base stays home, and Walker wins.

Walker/Martinez 273 --- Cuomo/Klobuchar 265

Cuomo would be a poor candidate nationally, IMO.

I like Susana Martinez a lot though I despise Walker. I'd probably vote Cuomo here though I don't like Klobuchar as his running mate. However, a Cuomo/Martinez bipartisan ticket? Now we're talking.

As for who wins, Cuomo without a doubt. He's by far less controversial as a governor. Walker would lose Wisconsin and the entire Midwest (sans Dakotas), perhaps even Indiana as union Republicans (believe me they exist) and independents would mobilize against him.

I think you vastly over value the clout that unions have.

I don't see why walker wouldn't be able to carry his home state, especially if he wins a third election this year by a similar margin.

Walker hasn't touched a private sector unions. He's gone so far as saying he will never push for Wisconsin to be a right to work state, much to the chagrin of many Republicans. Even if unions were as influential as you seem to think they are, why would a private sector union have any problem with Scott Walker?
