Plea bargaining in criminal cases is out of control because prosecutors are lazy asses, who in general are incompetent to try cases anyway. Tongue

Actually, somebody told me in Columbia County, New York, almost no criminal cases go to trial. They are all plea bargained away, which may be a good thing, since the judges have a reputation of being political hacks, of questionable ethics, some of whom allegedly are not even lawyers. That seems facially noisome to me. You ever done a trial Badger?  Tongue

Oh, and did I ever tell you how the institution of government employed prosecutors in the US came into being? Hint: It started in A, then went to B, and then to C, and then to D, and then to E, with E being the US. Smiley

I don't understand why anyone would vote for Hillary Clinton just because Daniel Inouye said so on his deathbed.

For Antonio:

The Third Way really is the only path remaining for the European left. Traditional social democracy is at best a relic of Cold War, Bretton Woods-era structures with no real relevance or import in a deregulated, liberalized, flattening world. The left needs to come to terms with the untapped power of the market to improve lives with government involvement or intervention only in the severest cases.

I have mostly abandoned Objectivism (I'm being truthfull) because it is a childish ideology that cannot function in real life, despite a few valid points here and there. (Thought this was the PLEASE thread).

I am still an Objectivist and I have decided that 2011 Sanchez was much more edgy.

I've never voted for a non-Democratic candidate in my life (except for first preferencing joke candidates in IRV city elections) and never ever will vote for a Green candidate.
