They are also opposed to Obamacare and rate the "MNsure health exchange" in a negative way.

But they like the idea that the minimum wage is increased, also automatically each year & inflation-adjusted.

But just click on the link for the results.

While this is a bit of a nick, we shouldn't force something like this onto Minnesota if people are opposed to it, just wait until the public opinion changes.

And wait, what are Dayton's positions on Drugs?

At least they support medical marijuana, meaning most Minnesotans are just killjoy prudes instead of heartless sociopaths.

State full of white people doesn't see the need to repeal laws that are only enforced against brown people, more at eleven.

Pretty much. Plus, doesn't Minnesota have a different preferred drug? Kind of like how Kentucky has meth (if I recall correctly) as a problem?

Do you think this poll is "off" (which I don't think, considering the other results are reasonable), or is MN one of those states that's really strongly opposed to it for some reason ?

National polling shows in favor of recreational marijuana, so this poll has to be way off. Either that or Minnesota is the second prudest state in the nation.

Strange, but marijuana legalization has polled oddly in some states. For example if I recally correctly legalization has more support in Georgia than NY.

High population of Scandinavians, maybe ?

Of course this is from a Eurobarometer poll from 2006, but still look how low Sweden ranked back then ...

Keep in mind Minnesota already has like... the most lax marijuana laws of any state where it isn't legal in some form.

Being caught with up to 1.25 oz. is a petty misdemeanor and you get a ticket... if, as Lief said, the cop doesn't just look the other way.

If we were tossing people in prison for years and years over possession of small amounts of marijuana, you'd probably see a bigger move to legalize it.

They just need to re-brand marijuana and call it lute-weed or smokeable hot dish.

It's the same here in Utah.

Well, we've managed to find a way to put hotdish on a stick... I'm sure we could make it smokeable.  Imagine a Turkey Wiener Doo-Dah Hotdish High!

SUSA sucks at polling Minnesota, so I doubt this poll. They had McCain over Obama in October of 2008, and their final poll had him up 3 just before he won by nearly 10.

Also Obama having a approval of 36/54 (way worse than his national average) screams bulls**t to me.

At least we legalized a specific cannabis extract for kids with seizures in Utah. That's a start.

If a solid Republican state like Texas is in favor of legalization 60/40, I see no reason to doubt that a solid Democratic state is 60/40 against marijuana.

Yeah that's what I'm rather skeptical of. Though snowguy made the best point. Marijuana's already decriminalized and hardly ever enforced here and the attitudes in general are quite lax. I don't know what the actual numbers would be in a referendum, but it's not like the majority of the state is a bunch of Adam C. Fitzgeralds. Most employers don't even drug test for it unless they're part of a national chain with such a policy or are required to by some contract.

This isn't really an issue that divides along clear left-right lines.

Well let's consider here. Which is going to be more supportive, Michele Bachmann's district or my neighborhood?
