I considered putting this in the R&P board, but I think one could argue that Falwell was far more of a political figure than a religious one.  I also fully expect HP to win by a landslide, but I'm curious to see the partisan breakdown.

Anyway, an unsurprising HP vote from me.  Perhaps the worst religious leader to enter the political scene in the last century.

Falwell was not a Christian in any sense of the term. Not a follower of Christ, and deep down, probably not even a believer.

Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker would certainly agree.

I think Hustler was more accurate than people want to admit.

Yes. Falwell had the one powerful tool that Phelps never had: Influence.

Protest votes?

Anyways Massive HP-probably one of the most influential men in making American Fundamentalism/Evangelicalism a largely reactionary force in politics, fully abandoning even the economic populism which existed before the 1970s.

What's really sad (and despicable) is that Jerry Falwell might even be a RINO by today's Republican standards...

Racist, homophobic HP (R).

Falwell was not a Christian in any sense of the term. Not a follower of Christ, and deep down, probably not even a believer.
This probably summarizes it well.
