Tell them you love them at least one time tomorrow. I never met my father, I was estranged from my son for years...you never know what the last thing you will say to a loved on is- let it be"I love you"

That is by the far the best advice that has ever been posted on this forum, or will ever be posted on this forum. I hope the kids on this forum, read it, and remember it.

God the things I wish I had told my Dad about what I thought of him, in the way I do now after he cannot take cognizance of it, because I just didn't have the courage to do it, in the sense that that I thought it would seem too saccharine, or some BS (kind of some reticent upper middle class WASP syndrome, long since I would like to think exorcised from my soul). That was just so wrong. Yes, it is true, that my Dad knew I adored him (mostly by deed I think rather than words), but still.

I will never forgive my birth father for what he did to my mother and to me. I don't love him. I don't even really know him, nor do I wish to. It's bad enough I go through life with his first name. Luckily, my mother made sure I had a last name I could be proud of.
