I don't think that's necessarily what lawful means in this context. It has more to do with a preference for order and routine.

Actually I think your first instinct was more accurate than Nix's correction.  Though "you guys" aren't actually lawful much at all, it has fewer votes in the poll than "chaotic" and far fewer votes than "neutral".

Anyway... as a lonely lawful voice around here, yes, in fact, I do actually pay for music. Why?  I studied music enough in my youth to know that sh*t takes work to make and starving artists gotta get paid.  It's not something I like to bring up much, because I know it's widely considered to be "lame-o" as you put it, but it's actually something I feel surprisingly strongly about.

Honestly, the test was a bit hard for me, because a fair number of the situations were situations I would never be in, or the options were those which I wouldn't have normally taken, so I gave my best guess of how I thought I might react.

Hell, the first question was silly and didn't have the correct answer as an option....the correct answer being explaining to the old lady how cats work.  Anybody that would climb a tree for a strangers cat isn't nice, they're stupid.

That's at odds with the impression that I took from the test. Reverence for authority and rules still leaves you with a choice of which set of rules to follow. If actual laws are inconsistent with your definition of lawful - which presumably has some other external source of support - then your contempt for those laws will only be stronger as a result.

I can't explain my moderately strong lawful score in any other way (except bad test design, I suppose). Example: I have no qualms about downloading media for free if it's not available through a subscription service that I pay for - but I also wouldn't describe as "stealing."

I think both descriptions are accurate, because they happen to be correlated with each other.  As someone who is Lawful Good, I believe that laws are a good way to codify the structures we need to keep a well-ordered, productive, harmonious society.
