Does Russ Feingold have a place in the 2016 election? I Think he would be a very good choice for Clinton's VP, given that he's from the Midwest and far to her left. He is qualified to take over on day 1 if necessary, and could alleviate the concerns of people thinking she's too hawkish.

I would love for him to run, but frankly I don't think he's interested.

Feingold would be infinitely better than Hillary.

Huge fan of the guy and would love it if he ran, but he's better off challenging Johnson.

I would like to see Feingold run, he would be a fresh voice, but he'll likely run against Ron Johnson, and could win his seat again.

He lost a bid for reelection in a purple state.

That does not auger well for his prospects as a General election candidate. Nor would it make a twice-divorced guy in his 60s a good choice to be anyone's running mate.

If he wants to run for another term in the Senate (where he likely has the nomination, and a good shot at winning the seat) a presidential bid would not look good.

I'm in favor of him running, partly because I don't believe he would be a strong GE choice. There's an opening to Hillary's left, and Elizabeth Warren doesn't want to take it. Feingold also seems to have more appeal to the base than O'Malley and Schweitzer. It's a bit shameless, but being out of the Senate allows him to run as an outsider, with a slightly better claim to electability than Rick Santorum (Feingold could claim that the country has come around to his positions.) He also has a geographic edge in an important early primary, as Wisconsin shared a border with Iowa.

Russ Feingold will be running a campaign in 2016...but only in Wisconsin. I think he's going to seek a rematch with Ron Johnson, and the polls right now show he'd win.

I'd love to see him as President, but his best shot was in 2008 and he declined to run.

He should return to the Senate.

I could see him as the liberal Santorum.

I think he gets a cabinet post in the next Democratic administration, but other than that, he will continue to be an irrelevant monument to the past like Santorum and Gingrich.
