I think my 10-year old daughter is enough.

I'm 22. Wanting children would make an insane person.

This is the correct answer. Maybe it'll happen at some point, but it's certainly not something I have any interest in now.

I'd make a sh**tty father.

Though that could change I guess.

There are pros and cons for having kids young, probably more cons overall, but the pro of being young enough to enjoy life after they leave is a huge one.  It seems like it would suck to be in your 60s when your last kid leaves the house.  It's probably best to wait though.

Yep, I'm 55 with one 32 year old who has been out of the house for a long time.  It's quite nice.

I was 24 when I had my daughter. It was a totally an unexpected and life changing experience. Maybe it would be nice to "have my old life back", but my life has purpose now. The main purpose in life is to reproduce, everything else in life is finding ways to sustain your life so that you can reproduce. So, I feel like I've done my duty to the human race.

Another thing about having children young is that biologically, we're supposed to have children at a young age. You also have enough energy to look after it properly.

At least 2, probably no more than 4. Voted 3 in the poll.

My girlfriend and I have had discussions and we want two little Bushies, possibly three.  That's a long way down the road, though.

... it's a long time before you should consider being responsible for innocent children.

While I get clucky from time to time, I don't want any.

One or two. Two maximum (hopefully one of each). But not for another ten years, at the very least.

Fertility issues is the other big one.

I want two or three daughters, since I grew up with two brothers. Part of it is insecurity on my part, as I am not a physical guy and feel that I won't have anything in common with a son.

Zero. I never wanted children and that has not changed. I'd be surprised if it does change.

I'm not ready to permanently say goodbye to peace and quiet. Toddlers, babies, little kids are dreadful, and to take care of one isn't something I want to do, although at least when they get older you can have a conversation with them, and under the right circumstances that might be worth it (a preppy daughter would be nice to raise), but I have no desire to take the chance.

That's exactly how I've always felt.

I always figured that if I ever were to have a child, I'd prefer it be a girl, and hopefully an adopted one at that.  However, I really have no interest in taking that up.

My dad isn't/wasn't either and it just meant I'm woefully incompetent when it comes to "manly" skills and pursuits. Never had anyone to play catch with in the backyard when I was little. Never learned the right way to throw a football. Any knowledge of tools or home repair that I have I learned from a combination of Google and trial and error. I have no clue how a car works. I had to learn to tie a necktie using a guide on the Internet.

Four, and it'd ideally be three boys and one girl.
