Just use your AMEX. It always does the trick for me.

I don't really see the point in an AMEX card these days.  Maybe if I did a lot of traveling, but frankly paying a annual fee for the privilege of using a charge card that isn't all that widely accepted at the stores I frequent seems like a dumb idea.

Amex has credit cards these days too. I have one with a cash back perk where I get 6% back on groceries and 1% back on anything else I buy. I still have a gold Amex charge card but I don't use it a lot anymore because the perks aren't nearly as good.

1. Find a trusted friend and write them a check for the amount of money you need/want. Have them deposit it in their own bank account and then have them withdraw an equivalent amount of money in cash and give it to you.

2. Do you have any spare coins lying around? Take them to a Coinstar machine for cash. You can also redeem gift cards there.

Which card does that? Mine only gives me 3% back on groceries. This is the credit card I use most of the time.

Blue cash preferred gives you 6% back. It has a $75 annual fee but double discount on groceries makes up for it fairly quickly. I use it to buy food almost exclusively.

The best thing about AMEX are the generous reward points you receive upon any purchase, which can be used for virtually anything (transferring them to your airline reward account being one of the top perks). And Amex Plat comes with travel insurance!
