I probably don't share my parents' view on religion.
I've actually never talked to my dad about it, nor anything really philosophical because he's not interested in the least. My dad, though, has not gone to church in years and is not interested in religion. I talk regularly with him about sports and normal guy stuff. He's just old.
But I will say that my dad's brother and I share very similar views on organized religion, church, the Catholic/Latin Church, etc., which is to say agnostic with negative views about organized religion.
My mother is a mainline Protestant who attends church somewhat regularly, but her participation has dropped in recent years. They're from a time and place when you went largely out of social expectation and because it's what people did, which is a view that is declining. My mother's views are fairly orthodox for mainline Protestant thought, though.
