John Edwards did not have an affair with Rielle Hunter.

What does he do now?

Maybe he could get tapped for the Vice-Presidency. But that is a slim chance. Even without the affair, for all the good proposals Edwards has, there are his flaws. And his wife wasn't the saint America thought she was.

If he does get the VP slot under Obama, then the WWC Vote will increase and Obama may pickup Missouri, Georgia, and possibly South Carolina in 2008.

Still doesn't win Iowa... By 2008 he was essentially a white Barack Obama.

Especially since the allegations were given very little attention outside of tabloid newspapers and blogs in late 2007, and Edwards only started to come clean about the affair in late 2008.

But, if there hadn't been an affair, I'd say Edwards would've been a decent veep pick for Obama.

If John Edwards wasn't picked as John Kerry's running-mate in 2004 and instead remained in the Senate, he probably would have been a decent running-mate for Obama in my opinion.

Would do you mean his wife wasn't a saint ?

Explain. She's been dead for almost 4 years now.

Read Game Change and read The Candidate. In those books you'll see Elizabeth Edwards as, what Edwards insiders say, an abusive, intrusive, paranoid, condescending crazywoman.

This is a What If thread. He is not affirming that and even so, now it seems that his wife had some problems...

That's putting it mildly.
