Guadango would keep the New Jersey governorship in GOP hands in 2017 due to Christie's popularity.

Were you asleep during the entirety of this year? Why is Christie still popular? Have you not heard of Bridgegate or the Hoboken scandal?

Only way Democrats get the NJ governorship in 2017 is IF the White House goes to the Republicans in 2016.

You do realize that Christie isn't popular, and do I even need to mention Bridge gate and Hoboken?

Josh Mandel would have to undergo a major image rehabilitation to have a remote chance of being elected governor. He's about as toxic of a name as it gets in Ohio right now.

I'm hoping Mark Schoesler will run for gov in 2020, if Inslee if reelected. Otherwise I would like to see Cathy Mcmorris Rodgers.

What are Mandel's reelection chances this year?

Worse than every other statewide official in Ohio, but no worse than Toss-Up.

I think Rodgers has too much power in the House to give it up for a risky Governor run. Also, I don't expect anyone east of the Cascades to be elected to anything anytime soon. Andy Hill , Steve Litzow, Cathy Dahlquist, and Linda Kochmar would be better choices.

And yet he lost badly to a liberal in a swing state.

I think he's referring to the twerp comment.

I know wouldn't win. I want him to run so I can take his seat.

Y'all don't see Inslee going for a 3rd term in 2020 ?

Sooner or later, someone's gonna break that two term tradition by seeking a 3rd term.

2 Washington State governors successfully won 3rd terms.

What's his face served from 1941-1945; 1949-1957.

Hey Texas Conservative,  um I think it would be better for all of us if you could just keep to a few posts instead of a post for every single sentence.

It's just really spammy.

As a general rule:

AG = Aspiring Governor
That makes sense. The office is a good springboard for Governor.

In Virginia, I think that Attorney General Herring could suceed McAuliffe in the Governor's Mansion, but he will probably have a long slog against the Republican nominee.

AG Kamala Harris probably has a good chance at becoming Governor of California

AG Pam Bondi could become Governor of Florida, but the Republicans do have a fairly deep bench here, given that there are so many Republican congressmen and mayors who might want to run in a gubernatorial election.

AG Lisa Madigan might become Governor of Illinois, especially if Rauner (R) defeats Gov. Quinn, which would make this race a prime Democratic target in 2018.

AG Catherine Cortez Masto is probably going to run for Governor after Sandoval leaves office in Nevada.

AG Kathleen Kane is probably a good candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania in the future, but her chance might be a while from now, especially if a Democrat defeats Gov. Corbett this year and remains in office for two terms.

Of course, AG's Abbott (R-TX), Coakley (D-MA), and Beau Biden (D-DE) will probably end up as Governors very soon.
