The judge responsible for this mockery of the law should be swiftly impeached. What's the point of retaining the death penalty if we don't use it in cases like this? Luckily for the cause of justice, I'm sure the good, well-armed people of Texas will take the law into their own hands once this thug is released from jail.

I hope and pray the judge has discretion to let him out on probation after a few weeks, and uses it.

Mom always told me never to commit a crime in Texas.  She really did.

I think that's pretty good advice.

He was white, too.

His parents must've been really, really poor.

Community service, an education in Texas history, and apologizing on live-television to the descendants of all those (Texan as well as Mexican) who fought and died at the Alamo would have done a lot more good.

Huh  I'm not following.  How is that 'cruel' and 'unusual'?

That's clearly unusual. Never a judge did condemn someone to do that.

Am I a terrible person for laughing really hard at this?

Didn't a judge recently condemn a man to do something similar after harassing a family over a period of fifteen years?  Two different mediums, but both involve public humiliation.
