had some rl issues to deal with, sorry everyone

Atlasia has long been a pioneer in green technology --  from biodegradable plastics to hybrid vehicles to wind farms, we've seen huge improvements over the last ten years.

But is it enough? For every ton of carbon dioxide or water vapor or methane we save, China or India or Nigeria is more than ready to make up for it. No -- if we want to solve this problem -- if we want to leave behind a world our children can live in -- we must resort to more extreme measures. We will stop global warming unilaterally.

Atlasia must begin a program of climate engineering -- planting more forests, carbon capture, cloud whitening, and above all (literally ) a space sunshade -- if humanity is to survive. And that is what I intend to push for as your senator.

Or, more accurately, a radically pro-GSM-rights agenda.

Recently, the Senate defeated a provision giving trans* people the constitutional right to gender therapies. This is wrong -- all too often, these procedures are vital to a trans* persons life -- and even more often, to their well-being.

As a Senator, I would fight for the rights of gender and sexual minorities on this issue and others.

Many of the problems our nation faces can be boiled down to one thing -- a lack of freedom of movement. When poor people can't afford to travel, they lose access to any service or opportunity that is too far away.

For this reason, I propose that we make public transportation available to every Atlasian, free of charge. This would be done by requiring every county in Atlasia to provide local buses, trams, or other forms of public transportation and having regions establish longer-distance routes. Financing would come from a large tax on the sale of new fossil-fuel-consuming automobiles.

Today, I am proud to introduce what I believe to be the first secure, yet simple secret ballot mechanism proposed in Atlasia.

Here's how it works:

1. Someone who wishes to vote posts in the voting booth.
Quote from: Restricted
You must be logged in to read this quote.
2. The SoFE generates two keys (an encoder and an identifier) and sends these to the voter via PM.
Quote from: Restricted
You must be logged in to read this quote.
3. The voter edits his post in the voting booth to contain the ballot, encoded with the received key. He does not post the identifier anywhere.
Quote from: Restricted
You must be logged in to read this quote.
4. At the end of the election, the SoFE reads the ballots and posts each plaintext ballot along with its identifier, in randomised order (also the final results)

You must be logged in to read this quote.

[and so on][/quote]
5. Now, every voter can (and should) check their own ballot for accuracy.

The details of the encryption itself can be decided upon later.

I believe the government has an undeniable duty to protect the weak from the strong. That should tell you where I stand on workers' rights. Wink

I wish I could edit my ballot to give you a higher preference. This platform is wonderful! Is there any way you'd run again?
