This is true, especially of the airport parking garage confrontation, but it was still widely known that Elizabeth Edwards wanted her husband to be President. She was definitely not an innocent victim who was dragged into the mud by her ambitious husband.

That being said, John Edwards cheated on a woman who lost her son and was dying of cancer. You don't get much worse than that.
