Walker, Sandoval, Pence (Massive buildup of white collar jobs in my area. Stealing lots of Illinois jobs. Terrible presidential candidate though.), and Haslam.

Jerry Brown is the best Democrat.

Though choice between Walker, Sandoval, and Haslam. Out of the Democrats, Brown.

Shumlin automatically wins for getting single payer.

Brown and Shumlin. The best Republican governor is Sandoval, not that that's saying much. Dayton's pretty great too. I also have some fondness for Markell and Kitzhaber, although there are too many points of disagreement (within the internal context of Democratic politics) for me to say that they're among the best.

O'Malley is fine, Chafee is inept and kind of slippery, and Patrick is awful.

Why don't you like Patrick?

He's basically a toned-down version of Cuomo in a lot of ways. His big 'job creation' idea is the legalization of casino gambling, which has already turned into an ungodly mess without any casinos even actually having been built yet because almost no community in the state actually wants the damn things (he's also said he'd strongly oppose any attempts to build one in the little rich-person enclave out in the Berkshires where he spends his free time). He's hugely into charter schools (although his education policy is, otherwise, fairly good). He shows little interest in 'bread-and-butter issues' beyond the casino thing and what I said about his education policy. His transportation policy is surreally anemic.

I assume your support stems from his proposal to reintroduce child labor?

Christie.  The liberals and Tea Partiers are cooking up this bridge scandal to destroy his reputation and his political career.

Brown, Shumlin and Dayton in that order. I also like Abercrombie and Kitzhaber.

For Democratic Governors, the best I would say are Dayton, Hassan and Quinn (personally), Abercrombie, Hickenlooper, all of the Dem Northeasterners, Nixon, McAuliffe.....and heck, let's just say all of them. Tongue Though if I had to pick, Tomblin, Beebe and Brown are the worst of the best.

Republicans, obviously Sandoval and I guess Martinez. I don't follow NV and NM politics much, but they must be doing something right if they're willing to avoid the veto pen every once in awhile and work with their opposition. For some reason, Daugaard always pops in my head to as a decent, non-controversial Republican Governor out west to whose allowed for more government transparency and affirmative action.

I'm not a big fan of Brown because of his backwards views on marijuana, although that's something Adam would love

He pardoned more drug offenders than Gray Davis and Schwarzenegger have combined though. Also he really should be term-limited out of office and let another Democrat take over because it's California. There's plenty of young, up and rising politicians who would love to have a shot at the seat, but can't because Brown is unbeatable. I don't agree with his massive budget cuts either to schools, retirement and child healthcare, his resistance to the legislature or being spineless to the threats of the NRA, but nonetheless is a decent Governor for reversing the deficit, saving jobs and CA's credit rating, reforming the prison system and raising taxes on the wealthy.

Keep in mind to that the DGA only has 21 Governors, so it's not saying much either that Jerry Brown is the 20th best Governor in the country.
