It depends on what definition you use, but if the tea party is far right, then this is certainly far left.

OWS had some Paulite support, so no, I wouldn't say so.  It's more anti-establishment than pro-left.

Most elements of it certainly were, though it attracted some libertarian support on issues regarding corporate welfare.

Yes, given that it demands the abolition of capitalism.

Yes, given that it demands the abolition of capitalism.

It did, but the movement was at least partially hijacked by progressive Democrats when it started getting national attention.

Still voted yes due to the movement being started by anarchists.

I didn't notice that at all.  At least in NYC, Occupy seemed to be overwhelmingly weird, smelly anarcho-Communist-bohemian wannabe- leftist types.

I think it's more anti-corruptioncapitalist than anything

No, but it is the leftist counterpart to the Tea Party.

It never got close to the power the Tea Party wields. Heck, other then the change in vocabulary, it did less than the Green Party did.

A mish mosh of far left activists, conspiracy theorists and anti-globalization types. So, no, not exactly.

No, but it is the leftist counterpart to the Tea Party.

It wasn't designed to be, but it's largely been used as one.

That's entirely due to media bias. Entirely.

America has a media that kisses the ground the Tea Party walks on, yet absolutely hates Occupy, and even lies about Occupy's activities.

It was a hodge podge of different anti-establishment beliefs, which is one of the reasons why it failed to actually enact real change. Not to mention, much of these beliefs were so sky high that they wouldn't have gained traction anyways.

Why do people here keep referring to it in the past tense? I still attend Occupy Cincinnati events regularly.

People still go to Tea Party rallies, too.

I haven't seen a Tea Party rally that's drawn more than 3 people in the past couple years.
