That the melodramatic mess called Forrest Gump won was among the greatest crimes in Oscar history. Would Atlas have voted more correctly?

Pulp Fiction.

Gump is precisely a "melodramatic mess."

I thought Natural Born Killers was a better movie than any of the ones here, but that's not exactly an academy friendly movie.

I have a soft spot for Forrest Gump and Four Weddings, but Shawshank was by far the best of the five.

I've only seen Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump, both fairly good movies. I'll go with Pulp Fiction.

Shawshank Redemption

Btw, why all the Forest Gump hate?

1. It's a Conservative movie and this place is full of liberals.
2. Everyone loves to complain about the winner of everything
3. 1994 was one of the best years for movies, if these 5 are any indication, so people wanted their personal pet movie to win.

What? How is it Conservative? It's anti Vietnam and Nixon.

It's right-wing because it promotes traditional values. The one who rebels against them dies of AIDS.

No it doesn't, I mean, no, it's not promoting "Traditional Values", I mean, it features a Military guy who tries to stop Forrest Gump from talking about his experience in Vietnam at a rally by unplugging his microphone, that's not exactly Right Wing commentary.

I've only seen Forest Gump, so I'll vote for that. My dad's cousin had a bit part in Shawshank Redemption, though.

Maybe people aren't picking Forrest Gump because they don't think it's the best movie of the list Obamanation. Stop labeling people's reasoning. God you're insufferable.

Right or not, there's a certain group of folks (not just on the forum) that seem to think Forrest Gump stole best picture.

I am not one of those people.

Forrest.
