It only got more divisive because the country replaced their pro-life blue dogs with teabaggers in 2010.

Barrow is pro-choice. I think one of the South Texas Dems, Cuellar or Hinojosa, is pro-life.

I can't think of any pro-choice Republicans in the House and only a couple in the Senate. These pro-life Dems are not in danger of being challenged in a primary or being run out of the party I don't see the issue.

Kaptur is nominally at least, although I'm not sure they're counting her.

And Matheson.

That's strange.  I thought there were a whole lot more.

There were more of them pre-2010.

These are Democrats who supported Dave Camp's 2010 amendment to prevent women from obtaining insurance coverage for abortion services in the ACA. As you can see, all Southern Blue Dogs or centrist swing-district Catholics.

Well, a lot of Republicans (don't know exact percentage, but - a lot) call itself "pro-choice", but how many of them are in Congress now? At most: Collins, may be - Murkowski and Hanna. There were dozens 20-30 years ago. Polarization seems to make both parties ideologically rigid (and mirror image of each other), and elections - less and less interesting with each passing year...

Seems the main enemy of pro-life Democrats is Republicans, not other Democrats. Only Holden, Altmire, Reyes, Mollohan, and Baca lost to other Democrats, and those had more to do with redistricting (Holden, Altmire), ethics issues (Mollohan), or just plain unlikability (Baca).

In regards to Jim Matheson; he's at least not a "no abortions ever" type. The LDS Church is one of the churches that is fine with abortion in event of rape, incest, life of the mother in danger, and nonviable fetus.

FWIW, Mormon Democrats have a very good online community going; I always like reading their stuff.

Not every Democrat, who voted for Stupak-Pitts was really pro-life. Many (like Michaud, Kaptur, Ryan, Doyle, Lynch, Bishop) are rather "moderates" on issue, voting for some, but, surely, not all pro-life legislation... They are not "pure"...))))

Both senators Harry Reid and Thomas Carper voted for the partial birth abortion act and Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004, however, I doubt they support a roe vs wade overturn. Though Reid has hinted that he would allow a vote on a 20 week abortion ban.
