Match this statement with a politician from your country who could have said it and come up with a new statement from one of your own politicians.

"Do people whose life partner is of the same sex exist? Do people who live alone with their children exist? Do children who have never met their father, because they are created with insemination exist? Do children living together with multiple adults exist? The answer to all those questions is YES! It exists in today's Denmark x. Is it natural? No! No matter how recognized, widespread and normal it will be, it will never be natural to live in a way that is against the order of nature."

Mette Hjermind Dencker, family spokesperson for the Danish Peoples Party

That's too direct and blunt for a American politician.  Conservative politicians don't talk like that.  Conservatives speak the language of grievance, us vs. them and XYZ group is taking our freedom.

I'd have to say Rick Santorum.

It's too blunt for the politicians to say so the right brings in the Jerry Falwell types to say it for them, knowing that anybody who speaka out against a religious figure will be easy to demonize. It's a pretty clever tactic, even if it is a major dick move.

Well, I didn't find anything where they stated something as harsh as this. They just all see themselves as "saviors of the traditional family". So I went a bit too far accusing them of this, I suppose.

If my MP was allowed to speak in public, he'd probably be Christine Boutin. He's apparently very, very strongly pro-life and I recall he made a Twitter comment re-hashing 1950s Quebec anti-Liberal propaganda (heaven/sky is blue, hell is red). It's for the better that he's been shut up.

A French politician ('centre-right', not FN...) on the Roma: "Hitler maybe didn't kill enough of them".

In Australia, it would probably be Cory Bernardi, Liberal Senator from South Australia.

I'm calling BS on this whole "no American politician would say this" bit. Not many of the anti-marriage people would, but some would. Rick Santorum would. Bachmann would. Palin would. Perry would put it out in a last ditch ad in the 2012 GOP primary.
