You must live in one of these regions for no less than eight months.  What will it be?

The weather is better in the Panhandle, I think; and Florida isn't the worst state, which can't be said of Utah.

Dixie is one of the most beautiful places on Earth (that pic of Torie's secret highway I put up as a signature is in Dixie more or less). And the climate is better.

Dixie, because it has Zion National Park.

Assuming I could choose to live anywhere in either region, I would choose to live in the little hippie enclave of Springdale:

Yes, I stayed in a motel in Springdale, where the proprietor was gay. We got along fine. Smiley

Dixie (Utah), but I'd go to Park City as fast as I can and as long as I can for seasonal work.

I can't stand the desert of Southern Utah and rather prefer the snow, where I can do some snowboarding and skiing.

Park City also has a good amount of normal people, not just Mormons.

Dixie has the Badger Pass ski resort, and most of it is about 6 or 7 thousand feet in elevation, so it is not really desert. Another Hippie type "oasis" is Boulder, Utah, indeed far more so than Springdale, which is still mostly LDS (they own all the land almost), and where according to the motel proprietor, he is disdained in the community because he is gay (ex-LDS of course to boot), even though his LDS family has been in Springdale for a few generations. Hopefully that is changing a bit now.

Things may actually be getting better in that regard. A couple of years ago, the town enacted its own anti-discrimination ordinances for LGBT people.

I had no idea there's a "Dixie" region in Utah.

Tally's a bigger city than St. George, for what that's worth.

Panhandle because I can drink and sit on the beach and gawk at whatever white trash antics happen to be taking place within my line of sight.

This is one of the few times where I like both places. I'll go with the Panhandle.

Dixie. I have this irrational soft spot for Utah. No idea why.
