The sponsor has 24 hours to being advocacy.

I don't see the need for the Feds to limit the amount that can be grown. I am going to go ahead and offer this because storms may prevent me tomorrow. Normally I would wiat for the sponsor to speak first.

Also, we should replace Dept of Ag with one of the above agencies from Nix's Reorganization Act last summer.

Maybe it should one of the Interior Agencies or whereve parks were placed.

You could put it under the purview of the Department of Environmental Conservation & Land Management, which consists of the NPS.  I assume we're talking National Parks, which would be consistent with this change.  If it passes, perhaps the Governors and I should organize a country-wide day of "good-feelings", to coincide with the era of, "good feelings."

This bill will level the playing field and allow small producers to get in on the Cannabis market, democratizing it to some extent.

I will deem Yankee's amendment friendly.

I'm a bit perplexed - why wouldn't we keep a limit on the amount that can be grown or sold by a person/entity if we are seeking to give small producers a more level playing field in the industry?

I discussed the matter with Dallasfan and he said that the bill was a copy of something he had proposed in the NE and the limit was a political compromise motivated out of concern that legislature wouldn't go for it without such.

The politics of the matter are different here and I would prefer to let the regions set a limit if they so desire to do so.

Oh, hi. Grin

I'm not a Senator, but this is a federal equivalent of something I wanted to pursue in the Northeast, so maybe I ought to speak up. (I had wanted to tackle it in the last session but it was too busy for me to get to.)

Anywho, I wouldn't be the first to advocate for a limit of personal possession, but four pounds is a lot.

Yankee is correct - at the time I was concerned that a completely unlimited amount wouldn't pass muster with the Assembly. I was also a bit concerned since the current (or previous marijuana law of 2011 or so rather) seemed a bit murky on the regulations.

Also, under Section 2, would this only apply to federal land? Or would the Department of Environmental Conservation and Land Management be handing out permits for regional parks too?

What exactly is a "reasonable limit"? Is it just any limit that doesn't completely prohibit growth?

Hostile.

I think the original wording is better, honestly.

Sorry I tarried in responding to this.

That's a fair point - perhaps it'd be better to delegate the limit to the regions.

In retrospect I'm not entirely sure just how one would go about enforcing limits for recreational use, given that without a drug war the overall enforcement is bound to be more lax.

Personally I approve of the amendment to Section 2, Clause 1, though.
