Any gardeners out there?

We put two kinds of tomatoes, three kinds of chilis, some cilantro, and two kinds of beans in our back yard on Sunday, as well as a little green pvc-coated animal control fence about 2 feet high all around it.

I still have some room in the enclosed area so we're thinking of getting eggplants next weekend.

There is still snow on the ground at some places, so, no.

Yeah, done a little bit (lettuces and stuff) in a box. And prepared for the larger scale stuff.

weather's good now over there?  My neighbors tell me it's risky so early, but we're giving it a go.

The only thing I don't like about living in an apartment (versus a house or whatever) is that you can't really grow fruits and vegetables. Sometimes I'll have herb plants in my window though.

I only first mowed my lawn on Sat, so planting is also going to be a little late this year.

Yep, the back yard is totally done......just some things to do in the front and we're good to go.

We put some eggplant, cucumber, and some more peas in the empty spots.  I also added some Miracle Gro all-purpose plant food, although it seems to have had the effect of causing some of the leaves on the fledgling tomato plants to turn yellow.  I hope I haven't done more harm than good.

Vocabulary words:  spade, trowel, shovel.  What's the difference?  I still don't know.

Well a spade is for digging and a shovel is for moving material. That's why the blades have different shapes.

of course, now it all makes sense.

I blame the confusion on some rather liberal labeling practices at Wal-mart.
