I like to wear dark or neutral clothing most of the time.  I rarely choose to wear bright, flashy colors.  Black, dark blue, and gray are my favorite colors to wear.

Also, I don't wear things with pictures very often.  I'm conservative with clothing, if not with politics.

I've been preferring light colors as of late.

Bright colors by far, dark colors seem so depressing.

I have veritable rainbow in my closet with red, orange, tan, yellow, green, light blue, bright blue, dark blue, white, grey, and black shirts in there.  Pants are fairly conservative, with grey, tan, and blue.  My sock and underwear drawer is boring, with everything* in them being white, and my shoes are all black dress shoes and white sneakers.

*I do have a few pairs of dress socks, but I haven't worn them in years as they are thin unsatisfying socks without any absorbancy, and unfortunately I need absorbent socks.

Most of the time its dark/neutral/grey/whatever else. I'm probably the most careless person when it comes to clothes anyway though.

Me too, mostly.  I'll do some burgundy and browns as well.

I wear a lot of dark colours, but equally I like having flashes of colour.

Dark/neutral mainly I guess.  Most of my Tshirts are black, but I've got a few white ones, a couple three green ones.  My flannels tend to be darker colors.

More dark/neutral... I've got one green t-shirt, some skirts that are more colorful, one pair of pants that are wine-red; but all of this is fairly subtle; the rest is either black, dark blue of grey, with some occasional white stuff.

It's more a question of picking colours that work together and with what you look like, surely?

Dark or neutral and always solid colors, especially when dressing up. Even most of my summer wear (golf polos) consists mainly of solid colors. I think it looks better; I'm not into plaids or loud attire or really even stripes. I have a few golf polos with thin, sparse stripes. I was looking at some old ties the other day from the '90s that I still have in one of the closets, and I thought, "Jesus. People wore this stuff?" LOL. You know Chris Berman on ESPN? He still wears those ties.

I have a few bright dress shirts (one is lime green, another is salmon, for e.g.), and I'll wear them under a dark or neutral sweater for accent.

Basically my entire wardrobe is blues, greens, and browns, so take a guess.  I guess I have one or two red shirts.

There's a lot of dark blue, gray, and black in my wardrobe.  I have a brighter shirt here and there, but it's not the norm.  Five pairs of jeans, in varying shades of blue.

My friends are correct: a plain white shirt and a well-made, but simple suit will allow a particularly vibrant and eye-catching tie. Coloured shirts are okay, but you need to be careful you don't overdo it or your tie combo will just look gaudy. It's hard to be more visually offensive than gaudy.
